INSPIRE'11 - AWARDS & BUSINESS
Yateley Sports CIC received an important accolade as it was named best new business of the year at the North Hampshire Inspire Awards. The award was presented to Yateley Sports Community Interest Company (CIC), at a glittering awards ceremony in November 2011. The volunteer group beat off two other finalists to secure the winning spot at the largest business awards in the South of England.
The judges praised the organisers of the Gig on the Green for:
"creating a successful and very profitable event in a very short timescale from a shoestring budget. The Judges felt that the winner, stood out because of their determination and resourcefulness in undertaking a new venture that many would view as daunting...
Their ultimate aim was that the whole local community would benefit. They achieved their desired result of a hugely successful event entertaining both young and old alike – and made it profitable".
